Sharif Bhuiyan is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and a Partner and Deputy Head of Chambers at Dr. Kamal Hossain and Associates.
Sharif leads the firm’s international and commercial practice. He practises in a wide range of areas, including, admiralty, arbitration, aviation, banking, competition, corporate and commercial, employment, energy, infrastructure, insurance, intellectual property, securities, taxation, technology and telecommunication.
He acted as lead Bangladesh counsel in many cross-border projects and transactions, including multibillion dollar transactions, in the consumer goods, electronics, energy, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, telecommunication and various other sectors and as lead counsel and legal expert in international commercial arbitrations involving substantial claims and parties and arbitrators of multiple nationalities. He was lead counsel in reported cases before the Bangladesh Supreme Court in diverse areas, including, arbitration, banking, company law, constitutional law, energy, right to information, shipping and telecommunication. He also acts as a consultant in various matters, including as a consultant for the World Bank. Sharif is consistently ranked as a top tier legal practitioner (band 1) by international practitioners’ directories, Chambers Global and Chambers Asia Pacific.
